Evokes the final scene of Wars of the Roses, when Douglas and Turner annihilate themselves- in the end there are only the disembodied voices battling for the cold consolation of the final say left.
From my viewpoint the disruptive element is Abbott, unheedful of the truth in his vaulting ambition, backed by his coterie of political and business opportunists.
