It’s your fault for being who you are and where you are, and if you weren’t who you are and you weren’t where you are I wouldn’t be able to abuse you.
If only you’d said it differently I wouldn’t have humiliated you, abused you, hit you, raped you.
If only you’d done it differently I wouldn’t have humiliated you, abused you, hit you, raped you.
If only you weren’t you but someone else altogether I wouldn’t have humiliated you, abused you, hit you, raped you.
If only you weren’t…..(use here whatever comes to mind it doesn’t really matter).
It is your fault for existing as you are, and being where you are. If you didn’t exist as you are, and you weren’t where you are, I wouldn’t be able to abuse you.
It is your fault for existing.
Now I suppose you’ll play the victim card.
Thanks to Alan Jones, Andrew Bolt, Tony Abbott blah blah blah etc etc etc for their valuable contribution to this monologue.
I’m ashamed to say I have been guilty on occasion of participating in this type of action in verbal abuse, not rape. I’m not proud of it I am a person with a severe mental illness and can’t stand to live in an untidy home and sometimes I scream about it until it is back in order, bulging cupboards and stuff strewn about the house really upsets me and those who carry out the messy process know that it upsets me, still they do it.

I have been blamed for being a victim of child rape and abuse, apparently at age 7 I was supposed to do something to prevent it.

Marilyn, I have a friend who is a woman whose grandfather first attacked her at 6 and didn’t stop until she was 14 and my friend still lives everyday wondering what she could have done differently to prevent it taking place. The answer is NOTHING, not a single solitary thing could have changed the situation. You were both too young to have known any different and by the time you did know you were both probably so ashamed to tell anyone, that’s how these filthy bastards work burning in hell is far too good for them, they are the evil of mankind that ruin other people’s lives unless or untill those brave souls can overcome the harm done to them, I sincerely hope you are one who can be free.

It’s useless to blame but somehow we can fall into it all too easily, especially when people get abused. It’s a way of distancing from both the abuser and the abused one, as if we are above it all, when of course we are not.

Thank you for those wise observations and comments the ‘shock jocks’ have been annoying me.

I have a vague feeling that the finger waving classes don’t so much blame you for being yourself so much as they blame you for being not like them……

Yes, it probably doesn’t matter terribly in what way one isn’t like them, the offence is difference.

I think that they blame others to make themselves feel safe. If we blame the woman and call her a tart then rape cannot happen to us, because we won’t act like a tart. It’s ignorant and cowardly. It lacks empathy and compassion, and it’s bullshit, bullshit bullshit. It is a very weak and frightened society that blames the victim.
