Abbott, 2010: It’s good that women do housework

22 Aug

While I think men and women are equal, they are also different and I think it’s inevitable and I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all that we always have, say, more women doing things like physiotherapy and an enormous number of women simply doing housework  Tony Abbott 2010

I don’t think there’s anything I can add to that.

no argument from me. following the link reminded me that we didn’t get the K07 we thought we would, and I didn’t get the JuliaG I thought I would, so perhaps everything said at the link about TA, is also applicable to them – changing constantly to suit whatever is going on at the time, instead of actually just standing (fast) for something the electorate can believe in and support. we’re screwed.
(doesn’t he look evil in that image!)

It is one of those compound sentences wherein two propositions are expressed the first of which is almost always a precursor to soften you up for something totally unreconstructed!

Yes women are different Tony. Was it something in their budgie smugglers gave that away? I honestly don’t think you’ve thought much more about it than that, though we may note with relief that somebody has managed to inform you that they’re regarded as equals these days. Too bad you didn’t shut up at that point. Too bad you had to give examples that qualify your views in such narrow terms. In typical fashion its an each way bet in support of equality through housework.

Well we don’t have to ask how you’re dealing with a Woman opponent and a female deputy speaker in the chair. Something you may have had the opportunity to contemplate while cooling your heels in the dunces corner yesterday!

I think we seriously underestimate the serious amount of cerebral damage which may have occurred to this specimen, by way of pugilistic pounding.
I imagine, in terms of intellect,it may just look like a plastic bag of grey junket between Abbott’s ears.
Maybe we could find a comparable classification/weight class female boxer willing to get in a ring with this bloke, and fight his way?

”I take directions from women every day – my wife, my daughters, my chief of staff, other senior members of my office. Look, I am an entirely modern man in this respect.”

I wonder has he ever asked himself how long it has taken these women to learn to speak to him in a way that doesn’t threaten his rather tenuous sense of masculine difference, so that their relationships can actually be productive?

Or maybe he just expects other women to learn the same thing…

I’d rather know what they think about him during the period before, during and immediately after “I take directions from women every day.”
And what they mumble under their breath.

I doubt it is something fit for the ears of minors or priests.

I also wonder how many of the “directions” he takes involve a gesticulation involving two fingers,or less.

The Sales Abbott interview was disturbing.
Sales did ok, what an interviewer should do, but Abbott was an utter disgrace.

Interestingly the story of Gillard hitting back was buried midstream of Channel Seven WA.
Mark Riley was his usual smarmy self, and they made more of the issue about the security breach in the end.
If that is not proof of how little the MSM wants Gillard to get traction, nothing is.And no mention of Abbott’s back flip at all.
    The MSM is basically corrupt,period.
That is the other reason why Gillard is unelectable.Rednecks don’t watch the ABC or SBS, and these are the only places talking about these things, (the ABC recently and reluctantly)and as for Aunty, it appears only since Uhlmann disappeared ‘by the look of it’.

Point of order : Gillard has been elected. By the operation of the Australian system of democracy. She won the election of 2010.

And she will win in 2013 – as I’ve said for two years.

I hope you get to say i told you so,DQ,but you know what?

Anyway, tonight Uhlmann re-appeared and he brought his usual grudge along.

I think with little or no work he could give the interdweeb nutjobs and misogynists a run for their money.

Can someone please ask Uhlmann exactly why he has no respect at all for Gillard.
I mean putting aside the fact she is not Catholic, not male, not married and not anti abortion, what else makes him grind his teeth so much?

Further to the farce that is the ABC and the Seven Dirty report.
Tonight Chris Uhlmann snatches the steering wheel from Leigh Sales. He repeats the latest MSM smears, (just to reinforce them in the viewers psyche) adds a few more negatives and ends with a line like,
“And Julia Gillard has plenty to worry about.”
Following this we see a cold cross back to a very stern Leigh Sales. Why so sad Leigh?Did Chris not let you in on this?
Were you not privvy to the script he ran? What’s it like being Chris’s underling, anyway?
Get to use your freedom and independence?
    More than one night running?

It seems beyond coincidence that the day after Sales eviscerates Abbott, her Catholic boss pops up and makes Gillard look guilty of a crime created by low life organisms.
It seems even further beyond belief that neither he nor Sales mentioned Abbotts back flip on reading the BHP report.
This smacks of the brother Catholics sticking together, and putting Sales back in her box, and further protecting Abbott’s brand.
(And we all live with the scars of Uhlmann’s disgusting excuse for an interview of Gillard, earlier this year.He can’t see to let go.)

As for the pathetic 4 line non apology in the Australian?
Did Uhlmann not see the irony of that miniscule pseudo-retraction?
Not even a serious analysis,he just pushed yesterdays barrow.
    What a joke.

I can see Leigh Sales fading away to a life of home mum, after this soap opera.
And that will be a sad loss to our ABC and journalism generally.
Still we all know that certain powers are hardly likely to want a woman living in sin,pro-abortion at that, actually being legitimately voted in, by a secular society.

Now that Sales has been thoroughly shackled I have the final reason to tune out from this abysmal excuse for current affairs.
    Australians, all, let us rejoice…….

You are a dreadful pessimist at times, Hypo. I suppose it is the flip-side of being an idealist.

Sales is no.1 at 7.30, not Herr Uhlmann. I don’t suppose that she can control what the man says when he is “reporting” however. He is allegedly the political editor, which he sees as a soapbox for his own views, which seem remarkably close to the line the MSM, and Rupert in particular, have been pushing via the Rupert/Pell spokesthingy, aka Abbott.

Pessimist, idealist? Gee DQ you are going to run out of hammers soon if you don’t hit that bloody nail.

Uhlmann is the chief political editor,Sales is the presenter, the host.
If you think she tells him what to do,you need to step away from the books on Shakespeare my friend, and learn a bit more about corporate structure, 3 dimensional worlds and reality 110.
I appreciate your brevity, though.I also appreciate that apart from your optimism of thinking Sales is number 1 in Uhlmannslovakia, you pretty much said what I did anyway.

Fwiw, Sales is legit, but I can’t see what point there is in the ABC retaining Sturmfuhrer Uhlmann, if it seeks to retain its credibility and its audience.
I’ve said before that I think that ABC has given up on current affairs and is preparing itself for privatisation.

And who do you think is behind this little gem?
Not too many names on these digs. And I believe the ABC wouldn’t want us to know who went looking for this, ans asked for it to go up.
I do note it was provided by BHP.How convenient.Looks get the ABC and the coalition to do their bidding.

            Who’s running the country.again?
            The ABC?

I am not criticizing Sales,I’m saying she does not have as much power as people seem to think. For that split second it looked like the ABC could follow the facts, but Uhlmann dragged it back 24 hours to the default MSM position within 24hours.
How long a journo like Sales can tolerate that, before something gives is something I think we will all find out soon enough.

IMO, RU486 must surely be a radical improvement of surgical procedures.
Equally important, it is virtually a contraception rather than abortion measure at a very early stage of pregnancy. You can’t really suggest to me that a person is going to sit down and conduct a meaningful conversation on say, market economics, with a zygote?

Thanks for bumping this thread.I just thought it was time for a prediction regarding the so called debate on who is the ‘greatest mysoginist between Abbott and Slipper.
    http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-10-09/slipper-issue-dominates-torrid-question-time/4303512

I predict that the Hero on the White steed, St Christopher Uhlmann, head knight of unbiased reporting, will gallop in to 7:30 and give his usual happy go lucky non-partisan take on the issue.

Look out Julia.Look out Nicola.Look out all Labor women.
Labor is again being strangled by the MSM,as it continues to rewrite Abbott’s CV, and all his failings/misdemeanours out of history

    And Sophie Mirrorball?
We all know butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. It wouldn’t dare.

As for Julie Bishop ,given she used to hang off Ross Lightfoot,I think I shall pass on her judgement/taste in men.
Both of these women should have been vehement at defending the caustic barrage aimed at Gillard since day one.(Ditch the witch,Juliar, chaff bag etc)
Hypocrites and traitors of all women,in my opinion.
