Signed. A sensible person would have looked at the online explosion of commentary of this and realised any further action was futile by now.

So, where’s her motivation? The Liberal Party? Are they funding this via the shadows? Or is it the evangelical movement which has its roots in the megachurch loving, money obsession US evangelical system? She clearly has some reason to sustain this. And it’s not all for the pursuit of some empty worded, forced apology a lawyer will write on your behalf, saying words you don’t mean. She’s doing this for a reason, and that reason benefits her. Question is, what is it?

To silence an articulate critic, of course. The Taliban Christians do not want any opposition.

Never in my entire life has anyone been able to silence me. Maybe for a while but it’s only temporary. I’m a serial pest.

A petition is unnecessary. An apology is unnecessary. There is no malice in your stated facts. Supposing you said that she is a Baptist, and she’s, say, a Mormon – who gives a flying? If you said that she was a polygamist who encouraged right-wing evangelical groups to coerce underage girls into marriage, and was raised in a cult that waved placards reading ‘Abortionists & Fags Should Die’, she might have a case. Of course, that is assuming that she hadn’t. If you claimed that she had a communicable disease – beyond that of being an opinionated, self aggrandising evangelist – when in fact she did not, she would have a case. Jen, stop all this panicking. Have a cup of tea! Forget about it. You will not be ruined financially. It will not reach court. It would be laughed out by any magistrate in the land. Her lawyers know this, of course. Most importantly, MTR will not pursue this because of the tsunami of negative publicity she will receive. That is not the sort of publicity she is addicted to – and it will only exacerbate her ‘wailing missionary’ credibility problem. It is patently obvious that she has not let her religion share the podium – or should that be alter – with her ‘Big Porn Inc’ publicity. You are well within your rights to point this out. Even if, as she claims, she has been evasive about any of this, what damage has your statement done her? Do you think Mitt Romney’s competitors aren’t raising flags about his being a Mormon? The most litigious nation on earth, and nobody’s threatening to sue?? You are in a far more powerful position than you can imagine. MTR has resorted to this ploy – all bluff and bluster, mind you – because you have long had a huge affect on her credibility, or lack thereof. Keep writing. She is the one up against the ropes, not you. Do not let this noisy woman intimidate you. Evangelists are bullies, no surprises there.

Sorry. I left out a vital ‘NOT’

I apologised to a self righteous, bullying *tuppy* once.(* look up the meaning or ,substitute the 4 ‘special’ letters accordingly)
(Female of course. The worst ones usually are)
Never again. So, no signature from me gang.

And the only thing better than that would have been if Geraldine Doogue had witnessed the spineless capitulation, and quivering denial, on a full blown Compass episode.!!!

And when I say “Her” own ABC I mean it.
Watch how the archives of Drum antiquity, suddenly acquire an inexplicable filtration system.

The gutless editorial team will bend over backwards to comply with her demands.
    Always have always will.
    Words will strangely melt away.

….lawyers write letters for big bucks. It’s what they do.
Sleep easy and ignore it.And throw the follow-up ones in the bin.

If you had accused her of being an opportunistic parasite………….

She would have sued you for selling her short.

I think it’s about time we took up alms [sic] against this threat to secular society by organised religion and silenced the religous voice once and for all. Adding my name to this petition is my first blow in the revolution. I proclaim our civil religion as our established religion, and all others heresy. 🙂

There’s really no need to do this, just send her a complimentary packet of dogma biscuits, that should keep her happy.
